General practice, your data and you – an ALLIANCE hosted event

General Practice records currently provide the fullest set of health data anywhere in Scotland.

A new Scottish Government/NHS project, called SPIRE, is being implemented and will help to use General Practice information safely and securely to improve services in GP practices. It will also provide opportunities for research, planning and support public health.

This is a great opportunity for those interested in health data to get advance insights on SPIRE (prior to the SPIRE public information campaign later in the year).

At this event, citizens and third sector staff can find out about SPIRE, its potential benefits, personal relevance and rights around the use of the data and can also put questions directly to the project leads.

The event will be held between 10.30am-12.30pm on Wednesday 29 June at the University of Strathclyde’s Technology & Innovation Centre, 99 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RD (a 5 min walk from Queen Street station).
